Write a postcard poem.
Your poem can be serious, funny, fun, tongue-in-cheek, gleeful or melancholy. Just be sure it’ll fit on a postcard (think 12 lines or less). Take us somewhere fabulous. Make every word count.

Hey Bro,

You are missing kissing
company of some lovely
nannies. We all partied
last night, kicked cans
around, and bleated
at an outstanding moon.
I hope you come with us
next June.

Baa! baa

Hi Kit,

Man, these island dudes
know their massages.
Our lodges are the cat’s
meow. Chow is grand,
not from a can. We have
more catnip than you
can shake a paw at.
I’ll be home on Friday,
spoiled rotten.

Miss you,

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are in the process of returning to New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.

Sara, these are a delight! I love the goat one best. “bleated at an outstanding moon.” 🙂
The voice in both is perfect.
