Socks

Written for the Twiglets, Twiglet #5 – Cold Radiator

Snow-soaked socks
hang from a cold
radiator, ice crystals
remain on toes. Where
will I put my mittens
to dry?

“A twiglet is a short phrase. Or a word. Maybe two. Its aim is to “prompt” a flow. A thought. A memory. If something comes to mind, write. A polished piece isn’t the goal; creativity is. Leave a link, if you’d like your work read, but note that comments should not be expected. Twiglets are posted on Tuesdays.”

About purplepeninportland

I am a freelance poet, born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. I live with my husband, John, and two charming rescue dogs–Marion Miller and Murphy. We spent eight lovely years in Portland, OR, but are in the process of returning to New York. My goal is to create and share poetry with others who write, or simply enjoy reading poetry. I hope to touch a nerve in you, and feel your sparks as well.

Memories of our kitchen radiator flashed into my mind! I was youngest of 6, so I had very little space left!!
