“Love is of all passions the strongest, for it attacks simultaneously the head, the heart and the senses.” ~Lao Tzu
What is the timber of a kiss? What is the sound of an embrace? What cacophony resides in a broken heart? What does that voice inside your head say when you fall in love? What rumble fills your stomach when you fall out of love?
If two people chance to meet
on a beach in mid-summer,
their hearts will pound in drumbeats
to waves crashing like thunder.
If they meet in a neighborhood bar
and fall in love at first glance,
should jazz be playing, they are
sure to link those sounds with romance.
Two might meet holiday shopping,
seasonal tunes playing in store.
Gift paper rustling, chestnuts popping
can lead to mistletoe and more.
Relationship breakups are hard
reminders tug at your heart,
yet you cannot stay on your guard,
for love comes anew; feel that spark?
